Doggy Pancakes

Posted by Charlotte Wright on

Though it’s mostly cold, and the days are still dark, February is a fantastic month for foodies. We have National Pizza Day, National Carrot Cake Day (yes, it’s actually a thing) and last but by no means least, we have Pancake Day!

Also known as Shrove Tuesday, it’s the day of celebration in the Christian calendar that marks the last chance to feast before Lent starts on Ash Wednesday. The reason we have come to know this day as Pancake Day is because on the Tuesday, people would use up products like eggs and milk that wouldn’t last the 40 days of Lent.

But what does this have anything to do with dogs?

As we all know, our four legged companions love human food. But sometimes it doesn’t always agree with them! Just like us, dogs often have intolerances to wheat and grains. So, we have switched the ingredients and done the legwork to share a few doggy-friendly recipes with you to make at home. Our product tester Millie was on hand to give her woof rating too!

These recipes have been written as a guideline, so if your pet has a sensitive tummy, the ingredients can be easily swapped! If eggs are a problem, you can use 50g unsweetened applesauce or 50g of fat free yoghurt (non dairy yoghurt is also fine).
