This May, we’re proud to support a cause close to our community through our Strawberry Crush Hearts.
We’ll be donating a portion of proceeds to the Remembering Alfie Memorial Fund, raising money for CRY – Cardiac Risk in the Young.
Alfie was a healthy, happy, and energetic young man who tragically passed away last year from Sudden Arrythmia Death Syndrome (SADS), when his heart unexpectedly stopped at just 19 years old.
In his memory, his family have created this fund to help prevent other families experiencing the same heartbreak. Their aim is to raise awareness of cardiac conditions in young people and fund a screening day in Alfie’s hometown of Boston Spa, Wetherby, giving 100 young people the opportunity to be tested.
The screening day will cost £7,500, with additional fundraising supporting further screenings, vital research and CRY’s lifesaving work.
